This study aimed to examine the specific components of hot spring water in the Asan region to explore their potential use in manufacturing cosmetic materials. The Asan area is home to five hot spring districts; however, this study focused specifically on the Onyang, Dogo, and Asan hot spring districts, as they are considered the most representative of the region. The research collected samples from 14 Onyang Hot Springs, 5 Dogo Hot Springs, and 2 Asan Hot Springs for a detailed analysis using ion chromatography (IC) and inductively coupled plasma spectroscopy (ICP-OES). Additionally, concentrated hot spring water underwent microscopic examinations.
The findings revealed distinct ingredient profiles across different hot spring districts as well as unique visual characteristics in the concentrated water samples. These results lay the groundwork for further exploration of hot spring-derived materials in the development of advanced skincare solutions.
