Solid polymer electrolytes (SPEs) based on poly(ethylene oxide) (PEO) are promising for lithium-ion batteries due to their chemical stability and good interfacial compatibility. However, their high crystallinity leads to low ionic conductivity and a narrow electrochemical stability window. In this work, a new SPE was developed using allyloxy methyl thiirane (AMT), a sulfur and oxygen containing monomer, via in-situ thermal polymerization initiated by lithium bis(fluorosulfonyl)imide (LiFSI). Ethylene carbonate (EC) and diethyl carbonate (DEC) were added to form GPE-2, which created uniform coatings on electrodes and enhanced cycling performance. The polymer structure was characterized by FT-IR and H1NMR, and electrochemical properties were evaluated using electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS), linear sweep voltammetry (LSV), battery charge–discharge cycle testing, and lithium-ion transference number (t⁺) measurements.
