Photomultiplication-type organic photodetectors (PM-OPDs) are promising for high-sensitivity detection due to their trap-assisted charge amplification. However, the unbalanced donor-to-acceptor (D:A) ratios required for PM operation typically induce a trade-off between gain and bandwidth. To address this, we developed a regioregular donor–acceptor copolymer comprising PDBD and FBT moieties. The polymer exhibited highly oriented face-on stacking and reduced trap density due to its regioregularity, enabling a gain–bandwidth product exceeding 4 × 10⁵ Hz and specific detectivity (D*) over 10¹² Jones under reverse bias. These results demonstrate that polymer regioregularity is a key design parameter to overcome the gain–bandwidth trade-off in PM-OPDs.
