Lithium metal anodes are considered key components for next-generation batteries due to their high theoretical capacity. However, their practical application is hindered by issues such as dendrite formation and unstable interfacial chemistry, which lead to reduced efficiency and safety concerns. To address these challenges, it is essential to develop advanced electrolytes that can enhance lithium-ion conductivity and promote the formation of a stable interface. In this work, we present a novel electrolyte additive based on bottlebrush polymers bearing polyethylene glycol (PEG) side chains. We further investigate how the unique architectural features of the bottlebrush polymers affect the solvation structure of lithium ions at the anode interface. This study provides valuable insight into the role of polymer architecture in controlling ion transport and interfacial behavior, and offers a promising strategy for improving electrolyte performance in lithium metal batteries.
