Pressure-sensitive adhesives (PSAs) form bonds with various surfaces under light pressure due to their inherent tackiness at ambient conditions. They are widely used in applications ranging from packaging to electronics and medical devices. Incorporating movable cross-links into PSAs enables stress relaxation and improved adhesion without compromising cohesive strength. In this study, we explore the effect of mobile cross-links on the performance of a bio-friendly PSA formulated from cyclodextrin-based macromolecular composites. Polyrotaxane was functionalized with lipoic acid and 2-isocyanatoethyl methacrylate to introduce dynamic bonding. The resulting adhesives were characterized using FTIR, DSC, TGA, and mechanical tests. By systematically tuning the formulations and analyzing their mechanical and adhesive behaviors, we established structure–property relationships that support the development of sustainable, high-performance pressure-sensitive adhesives.
