To expand the material library of donor–acceptor conjugated polymers for photocatalysis, we synthesized two polymers containing bithiazole as the acceptor and fluorene as the donor. Incorporating a thiophene spacer between bithiazole units in PFOTzT led to enhanced molecular ordering and stronger interchain interactions compared to PFOTz. UV–vis and cyclic voltammetry confirmed red-shifted absorption and improved packing in PFOTzT. Nanoparticles were prepared using mini-emulsion and nanoprecipitation methods with various surfactants. PFOTzT–TEBS nanoparticles exhibited the highest hydrogen evolution activity under visible light, attributed to efficient exciton dissociation and suppressed charge recombination, as revealed by time-resolved photoluminescence and transient absorption spectroscopy. These results highlight bithiazole as a promising motif and underscore the importance of nanoscale morphology in designing efficient organic photocatalysts.
