Polypropylene resin is widely utilized in various applications, including automotive interior and exterior parts, electrical and electronic products, and building materials, due to its excellent economic viability, mechanical properties, moldability, and chemical resistance.
Polypropylene resin can be classified into homopolypropylene (homo PP), block polypropylene (block PP), and random polypropylene (random PP) based on the type of monomer and the manufacturing method.
There is a demand for the development of polypropylene resin compositions that maintain the rigidity of homo PP and the impact resistance of block PP while exhibiting the high transparency characteristic of random PP to elevate the quality of automotive exterior components.
In this study, we developed a novel polypropylene resin composition that achieves excellent mechanical properties, including high transparency, rigidity, and impact resistance, making it suitable for automotive exterior applications.
