Block copolymer-based photonic colloids offer a sustainable and tunable platform for structural coloration, yet challenges remain in achieving diverse morphologies, dynamic responsiveness, and scalable fabrication. This talk introduces a unified strategy to construct three-dimensional photonic microparticles using linear amphiphilic block copolymers through emulsion-driven self-assembly. By tuning interfacial conditions, solvent evaporation, and molecular composition, we realize both disordered porous structures for angle-independent color and highly ordered lamellar architectures for directional optical responses. Incorporation of stimuli-responsive elements further enables reversible color modulation under external triggers such as pH. These approaches provide a versatile route to photonic pigments with programmable structure–color relationships for applications in sensing, smart coatings, and optical devices.
