Interfacial property is a critical aspect of composite materials. Conventional fragmentation tests rely on optical observation, which imposes certain limitations. In this study, acoustic emission (AE) monitoring was employed to evaluate interfacial properties through fragmentation tests. AE signals enabled reliable detection of fiber fracture events, allowing the calculation of interfacial shear strength (IFSS). Furthermore, the use of fiber tows in fragmentation tests facilitated direct comparative analysis of interfacial performance.
