Surface fogging is a common issue that reduces visibility, light transmission, and image clarity. While hydrophilic and hydrophobic coatings are used to mitigate fog, conventional ones often lack durability and require frequent reapplication. To address this, a robust anti-fog film has been developed that remains effective for over five weeks in humid conditions while maintaining high transparency (>60%). This is achieved by synthesizing a random copolymer containing superhydrophilic and photo-reactive segments, which can be UV-cured and covalently bonded to various substrates. The strong chemical anchoring enhances durability, resistance to physical stress, and environmental stability. The film is compatible with surfaces such as automotive glass, polymer films, and aluminum foil. This simple and fast process enables long-lasting anti-fog performance, offering broad applicability in fields like automotive, optics, and construction.
