Exciplex-type host systems are a promising approach to improve OLED performance. We developed solution-processable exciplex hosts by synthesizing three p-type polymers with varying alkylene spacer lengths. Longer spacers enhanced solubility, allowing the use of non-halogenated solvents. When combined with the n-type host tPDBA, stable exciplexes formed, enabling green TADF-OLED fabrication. Devices using non-halogenated solvents showed comparable efficiencies to those using halogenated ones. In particular, by employing a polymer host with high solvent selectivity that is soluble in the non-halogenated aliphatic solvent 2-MeTHF, systematic optimization of the emissive layer thickness was achieved, leading to a significant enhancement in OLED performance. These results present an effective molecular design strategy for polymer structure engineering toward sustainable, halogen-free solution processing of OLEDs.
