Organic field-effect transistor (OFET)-based sensors have been recognized as a promising platform for biomedical applications due to various choices of organic materials, easy fabrication processes at room temperature, high design freedom for device shape, etc. Of various biomedical sensing applications, less attention has been paid to the detection of reactive oxygen species (ROS), even though ROS is one of the critical causes leading to various diseases (cancer, Alzheimer’s, and diabetes) and ageing in human body. Hence, accurate and early detection of ROS is vital to prevent oxidative stress-induced cellular damage. In this regard, recently, our group attempted to develop ROS sensors based on  OFETs in order to make a miniatured sensing platform for fast and mobile applications. In this presentation, we demonstrate a design strategy of materials to diversely control the sensitivity of ROS detection, down to the sub-nano molar levels, on the basis of OFET geometry.
