Effect of Inorganic Fillers on the Breathability and Properties of TPEE Films

Thermoplastic polyester elastomer(TPEE) is a high performance material with excellent mechanical properties and environmental resistance, used in various industrial applications such as functional films. In this study, inorganic fillers such as talc, calcium carbonate(CaCO3) and silica(SiO2) were incorporated into TPEE at different loadings to improve the breathability of the resulting films. After the stretching process, morphological analysis was conducted to investigate the influence of each filler on pinhole formation. The number and distribution of pinholes were found to vary depending on the type and content of the filler. In addtion, the mechanical and thermal properties of the composites were evaluated to assess the effect filler incorporation on overall material performance. These findings are expected to provide fundamental insights for the development of high-performance, breathable TPEE-based film materials.
