We report the design and fabrication of antireflective films composed of a linear polarizer and a quarter-wave plate for use in OLED devices, aiming to minimize light reflection from internal metal electrodes. To enable flexible OLEDs and 3D displays, we developed (1) imidazolium-functionalized amphiphiles forming lyotropic liquid crystal phases for solution-processable linear polarizers and (2) X-shaped guest molecules that assemble with reactive mesogens into latticework structures exhibiting negative birefringence dispersion. Both optical films were fabricated via bar-coating, and their polarization and dispersion-compensating properties were evaluated in relation to their molecular structures. Our results highlight the importance of molecular design in achieving macroscale optical performance for advanced electro-optic applications.
