We developed paper-based organic electrochemical transistors (OECTs) with (PEDOT:PSS)/montmorillonite (MMT) active material that can be edible by the earthworm. The PVA-PAA-coated paper, combined with a post-hydrophobic treatment, enhances the water stability and mechanical strength of the substrate, as confirmed by universal testing machine (UTM) and water contact angle measurements. This eco-friendly OECT device was consumed by the superworm after operation, demonstrating its eco-degradability and disposability, as verified by further FT-IR and SEM analyses.
