내용
Hydrogels possess a three-dimensional network structure, which imparts high water retention capacity and excellent biocompatibility. Among them, poly(N-vinylcaprolactam) (PNVCL) hydrogels have drawn significant attention due to their ability to shrink within the physiological temperature range and enable controlled drug release. In this study, PNVCL/PVP hydrogels were prepared by electron beam (EB) irradiation of a mixture consisting of N-vinylcaprolactam (NVCL) monomer and polyvinylpyrrolidone. The NVCL content was varied from 0.5 to 20 wt%, and EB irradiation was carried out at doses ranging from 10 to 50 kGy. The structure and physical properties of the resulting hydrogels were characterized using Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy, UV-visible spectroscopy, dynamic light scattering, gel permeation chromatography, and differential scanning calorimetry.
