SWIR organic photodetectors (OPDs) have emerged as a key research focus in various technological fields, including image sensing, medical imaging, and optical communications. As their absorption spectrum extends further into the long-wavelength region, these devices continue to reveal new application potentials. However, there remains a limited availability of non-fullerene acceptors (NFAs) exhibiting photoresponsive properties beyond 1000 nm.
To enhance molecular charge transfer dynamics, we have designed a series of materials based on an acceptor–donor–acceptor–donor–acceptor (A–D–A–D–A) framework. This approach involves functional group modification on the central acceptor unit, resulting in materials with bandgaps (Eg) below 1.0 eV, which have been successfully applied in optical communication applications.
