Liquid crystal elastomers (LCEs) are promising smart materials that can generate large strokes in response to external stimuli for applications such as soft robotics, artificial muscles, and biomimetic devices. However, conventional LCEs often suffer from limited mechanical strength and fixed cross-linked structures, restricting their practical use in engineering applications. In this study, we designed a novel class of LCEs incorporating dynamic covalent bonds. We precisely controlled the thermal, mechanical, dynamic properties of LCEs by adjusting the formulation. These results highlight the potential of the developed LCE materials as a part of next-generation smart engineering systems.
