Sulfur-rich polymers (SRPs) synthesized from elemental sulfur, a byproduct of petroleum refining, are promising candidates for next-generation long-wave infrared transmissive optical plastics due to their unique properties. However, their practical application is limited by a fundamental trade-off between thermomechanical robustness and optical performance. Herein, we present a kinetically engineered vacuum-assisted thermal treatment strategy, accelerated via particle size reduction, to overcome this limitation and improve the processing efficiency of SRPs.
