Carbon nonwovens, consisting of carbon fibers in a nonwoven sheet, exhibit excellent thermal and chemical resistance, maintaining structural stability at elevated temperatures. Compared with woven carbon-fabric composites, carbon-nonwoven–based composites generally show lower mechanical strength but offer greater structural flexibility, high compressibility, and a porous architecture that enhances interfacial adhesion with polypropylene (PP) and facilitates dispersion of functional fillers. These attributes promote uniform microstructure formation and improved functionality in the composite. In this study, PP and carbon nonwoven were laminated by hot pressing to fabricate composites, and a range of properties—including heat resistance—were evaluated to assess their application potential. This study was conducted with support from the Ministry of Science and ICT (KOITA20250002).
