A low temperature direct arylation polymerization (DArP) strategy enabled by Pd/Ag dual catalysis was proposed to prepare defect-free conjugated polymers with improved charge transport characteristics. Unlike conventional DArP, which employs single catalysis, Pd/Ag dual-catalytic DArP facilitates the efficient synthesis of defect-free D–A CPs—yielding approximately 20 CPs—under mild conditions. The resulting CPs exhibit high structural regularity and crystallinity, leading to improved hole and electron mobilities of 0.20 and 0.80 cm2V−1s−1, respectively, in organic field-effect transistors. Moreover, complementary metal-oxide semiconductor (CMOS) inverters demonstrate hysteresis-free transfer characteristics with a gain exceeding 100, surpassing those obtained from CPs synthesized via conventional DArP and Stille polymerization. These findings provide a novel strategy for developing high-performance CPs for electronics applications.
