The COVID-19 pandemic has demonstrated the potential of nanotechnology in medical polymers, particularly in gene delivery nanoparticles. The expansion of nanotechnology into the medical field demands precise quality control standards, necessitating a broad understanding of fluid synthesis and microfluidic-based convergence technologies.
This study established the foundation for the stable production of high-quality nanoparticles by applying Korea's world-class precision manufacturing technology, accumulated in semiconductor manufacturing, to the manufacturing of medical nanoparticles. Medical applications of nanoparticles require comprehensive consideration of various variables from the initial development stage, including quality characteristics, process conditions, and manufacturing protocols. Scale-up for clinical applications also requires consideration of factors such as raw material procurement, process reliability, and interim analysis.
