Abstract
Colloidal quantum dots (CQDs) offer unique advantages for optoelectronic applications due to their bandgap tunability, solution processability, and environmental stability. Particularly, their capability to absorb and emit in the infrared region makes them ideal for applications such as optical communication, night vision, and SWIR photovoltaics. While III-V semiconductors have been widely used for such purposes, their integration is limited by high-temperature processing and complex fabrication. In this work, we present silver telluride CQDs as a viable alternative, exhibiting size-controlled synthesis and bandgap tunability in the SWIR range, optimized for 1,550 nm photodetector applications. We also explore ligand exchange strategies to enhance device performance, highlighting the potential of Ag₂Te CQDs for next-generation infrared technologies.
