Abstract
Thin films are widely used in various industrial fields due to their tunable properties and ease of integration onto different substrates. Beyond their well-known role in semiconductor processes, thin films are also employed in areas such as optics, energy, surface protection, and biomedical technologies. Among various approaches, the self-assembly block copolymers offer a highly effective strategy for controlling the structure and surface properties of thin films. However, despite their great potential, block copolymer self-assembly also faces several challenges in practical applications. In this work, several strategies to overcome the limitations such as difficulties in controlling hierarchical structures and constraints associated with predominantly two-dimensional planar configurations, including the use of block copolymer blends and solvent orthogonality are introduced.
