Abstract
This study introduces a high-performance optical wireless communication system using organic photodiodes (OPDs) with panchromatic active layers. Instead of relying on wavelength-selective organic materials, we adopt a Fabry–Perot interferometer structure as an optical filter integrated into the OPD. This structure enables narrowband detection by selectively enhancing specific wavelengths through constructive interference, which is essential for multi-channel visible light communication (VLC).
By combining a broadband-absorbing active layer with an interference-based filtering structure, this approach achieves precise spectral selectivity without the need for specially designed light-absorbing materials. This strategy allows for the development of flexible OPD arrays with tunable color responses and narrow detection bands, offering a scalable and practical solution for next-generation optoelectronic systems.
