Abstract

A newly designed asymmetric triphenylamine (TPA)-based monomer (TPA-AM) is synthesized for high-security information encryption. The introduction of a methyl group induces steric hindrance, enabling TPA-AM to self-assemble into a lamello-columnar structure. This structure allows uniaxial alignment through a simple shear-coating process. The resulting thin films exhibit polarization-dependent photoluminescence (PL), electrofluorochromic (EFC), and redox-responsive electrochromic (EC) properties. Selective photopolymerization of these films enables dual-mode encryption, where encrypted information is revealed only under specific voltages or light polarization. Incorporation onto flexible indium tin oxide (ITO)-coated PET substrates demonstrates the system’s potential for application in wearable optoelectronic security devices.
