Abstract
Photocatalytic hydrogen production using organic semiconductors offers advantages such as structural tunability, low cost, and stability. However, performance is limited by Frenkel excitons, energetic defects, and inefficient charge separation. To enhance performance, it is essential to understand the relationship between molecular design and charge carrier dynamics. Recent studies have focused on identifying limiting factors and exploring charge behaviors using time-resolved techniques. In this work, we investigate the charge carrier dynamics in organic photocatalytic nanoparticles for hydrogen evolution, including photoinduced charge generation, transport, and interfacial redox reactions. We employ time-resolved methods, such as transient spectroscopy, to explore how molecular structures affect these processes. This study aims to provide insights into the interplay between molecular design, charge carrier dynamics, and photocatalytic efficiency.
