Abstract
Metal halide perovskites are promising for next-generation light-emitting devices due to their excellent optical and electrical properties. Beyond achieving >20% external quantum efficiency in LEDs, they exhibit strong optical gain, enabling potential laser applications. Combining perovskites with optical feedback structures has advanced this field, but practical use requires low lasing threshold and high stability. We demonstrate efficient and stable lasing from perovskite thin films through mixed-cation design, additive incorporation, and dimensional control. These methods reduce amplified spontaneous emission thresholds, enhance optical output under strong excitation, and mitigate photo-induced degradation. Lasing under optical pumping in LED device architectures also indicates a feasible pathway toward electrically injected perovskite lasers.
