Abstract
As energy efficiency becomes a growing priority in building design, the need for smart window technologies that can dynamically manage solar radiation is more critical than ever. This study presents a voltage-tunable electrochromic window system that combines reversible metal electrodeposition and complementary chromophores to control visible and infrared light transmission. The resulting electrochromic devices (ECDs) in this work operates in three distinct optical states to adaptively regulate indoor light and heat. Experimental validation in a model house confirms its superior thermal insulation and dynamic light management. Overall, this work suggests a promising advancement in smart window technologies for sustainable urban environments.
