Abstract
This research investigates molecular self-assembly, a process in which molecules spontaneously arrange into ordered structures via intermolecular forces such as hydrogen bonding and van der Waals interactions. By adjusting the volume fractions and molecular weights of polymer blocks, it is possible to achieve nanoscale structures with diverse sizes and morphologies.
Here, we employed block copolymer self-assembly to produce three-dimensional mesoporous carbon composites containing manganese oxide. The method involved co-assembling amphiphilic PS-b-PEO with manganese and phenol-formaldehyde precursors to create cylindrical structures. Subsequent heat treatment transformed these structures into manganese oxide-doped mesoporous carbon composites. Structural analyses using SAXS, SEM, BET, and other techniques verified the formation of the nanostructures, confirming their effectiveness as cathode materials for aqueous zinc-ion batteries.
