Abstract
The development of reliable, high-performance skin-attachable biosignal sensors is critical for wearable healthcare applications. Here, we present a biosensor based on a 4-terminal vertical Corbino-type organic electrochemical transistor (OECT) using n-doped poly(benzodifurandione) (n-PBDF). This structure effectively reduces parasitic resistance, achieving high transconductance of 374 mS at low voltage and a record-high μC* value of 1787 F cm⁻¹ V⁻¹ s⁻¹ among n-type OECTs. The device demonstrates excellent long-term stability and retains performance after UV and thermal sterilization. Its ultrathin form factor and the inherent flexibility of n-PBDF ensure mechanical adaptability for skin integration. Capable of detecting biosignals such as ECGs with high fidelity, this sensor offers strong potential for practical use in next-generation wearable healthcare systems.
