Manganese nanoparticles embedded phenolic resol based laser-induced graphene for supercapacitor electrode fabrication

Abstract

 The porous carbon materials make it highly useful across various fields, because of excellent electrical conductivity and high specific surface area. Unlike traditional graphene fabrication methods such as mechanical or chemical exfoliation and chemical vapor deposition. Laser-imduced graphene (LIG) uses the thermal or optical effects of laser to directly convert carbon-containing precursors into 3D porous graphene by laser direct writing technology. LIG offers a more efficient process with a highly 3D porous structure and reduced time and cost.
 In this study, manganese precursor included phenolic resol solution were spin-coated to form a thin film, which was then laser carbonized to produce manganese embedded LIG interdigital electrode. The 3D porous carbon structure of LIG electrode was analyzed using SEM, XRD, etc and evaluate its potential as a supercapacitors.
