Abstract
Moisture cure of isocyanate-terminated prepolymers has found broad application in the automotive, construction, and electronics industries due to excellent adhesion, high durability, and ease of use. This study evaluates the structure–property relationships of the cured polymer based on curing kinetics under various curing conditions. Based on the rate law, elevated humidity and temperature enhance the reaction rate, which modifies the resulting network structure, particularly the crosslink density. Curing behavior was assessed by infrared spectroscopy and dynamic mechanical analysis. The relationship between cure kinetics and thermo-mechanical property was clarified to establish a comprehensive framework for the structure–property relationship. The findings offer guidance for improving the industrial applicability of moisture-curable prepolymers.
