Tailoring GNP/Super P Hybrid Networks for High-Performance NCM811 Dry Electrodes

Abstract

To improve the performance of NCM811-based dry electrodes, we fabricated 150 µm-thick electrodes using composite conductive agents composed of 0D Super P and 2D GNPs. By varying the Super P content (25–100 wt%), we investigated the impact of conductive agent morphology on electrode performance. Among all compositions, the SuperP75 electrode (75% Super P, 25% GNP) exhibited the highest specific capacity (~208 mAh g⁻¹ at 0.1C) and excellent rate capability. While CV tests showed minimal differences in current density or peak area, the composite-based electrodes demonstrated electrochemically stable structures. Furthermore, the SuperP75 electrode maintained stable capacity over cycling and recovered its initial capacity after returning to 0.1C. These results highlight the role of optimized Super P/GNP ratios in enhancing conductivity and lithium-ion transport in thick dry electrodes, offering a scalable path for high-energy-density lithium-ion batteries.
