Interfacial Engineering for Efficient and Stable Blue Perovskite Light-Emitting Devices via Triplet Confinement and Defect Passivation

Abstract

This study aims to enhance perovskite led (PeLED) stability and efficiency by employing a triplet confinement strategy to prevent exciton leakage from the emitting layer to the hole transport layer (HTL). To achieve this, we develop an electron blocking layer (EBL) material with a high triplet state energy by designing a highly twisted molecular structure. Additionally, we screen functional groups to achieve an energy level alignment and surface passivation. By introducing functional groups to the EBL molecule, we modulate its energy level to enhance hole transport ability through energy level alignment. Moreover, we expect that introducing these functional groups will improve the interaction between the perovskite emission layer and the interfacial layer, leading to better surface passivation. In this presentation, we demonstrate the effectiveness of this strategy and explore how functional group tuning influences photophysical properties.
