Abstract
MXene is widely used in polymer-based composites with polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) to enhance flexibility and mechanical strength due to its excellent thermal and electrochemical properties. However, its poor chemical stability causes structural changes over time, presenting challenges for MXene/PVA composites. Since interactions between MXene and PVA affect particle structure and rheological properties of the dispersion, understanding how this interaction influences the aging process is crucial.
In this study, we investigated the aging effects of MXene dispersions by varying PVA concentration. Small-angle X-ray scattering and rheological analysis showed that an optimal PVA content led to enhanced stability in nanostructure and rheological behavior. Moreover, structures formed in the dispersion influenced the properties of the final composite. These findings offer insights into controlling the long-term structure and stability of MXene-based composites through polymer incorporation.
