Abstract
Polymers have been essential cues in biomedical applications yet optimizing their performance for in vivo implants remains challenging. Silicone and titanium implants, common in reconstructive surgery and orthopedics, exhibit bio-inert properties that hinder tissue integration, requiring surface modifications to improve biocompatibility. This study develops thin film coatings incorporating hydrogel nanofiber matrices that mimic native tissues and guide cellular behavior. Pseudo-3D structures from photo-curable resins are examined for effects on cell morphology and motility. Additionally, 3D hydrogel printing enhances interfacial adhesion between implants and tissues. Findings highlight the role of chemical and physical properties of polymeric and hybrid materials in modulating cellular responses, offering insights into advanced medical implants and diagnostic biochip technologies
