Abstract

The growing integration of compact electronics increases the demand for lightweight, thermally conductive, and flexible electromagnetic interference (EMI) shielding materials. We developed composite films by non-covalently functionalizing reduced graphene oxide with hydrophilic ionic liquid 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium bromide [BMIM][Br] and incorporating it into an aramid nanofiber (ANF) matrix via vacuum-assisted filtration. Ionic liquid enhanced dispersion and interfacial compatibility, promoting the formation of well-aligned, densely packed conductive networks. The resulting composite film exhibited improved EMI shielding, high thermal conductivity, excellent mechanical performance, and long-term stability under harsh environment, demonstrating their potential for high-performance flexible electronic applications. *This research was supported by a grant from the Academic Research Program of Korea National University of Transportation in 2025.
