This presentation highlights multifunctional gelatin-based hydrogels engineered to overcome the mechanical and bioelectrical limitations of nerve guidance conduits (NGCs). We first introduce a Gelatin/Alginate Double Network (DN) hydrogel fabricated via gamma irradiation, which ensures superior mechanical strength. To restore electrical signaling, reduced graphene oxide (rGO) was incorporated into NGCs and injectable luminal fillers, significantly promoting neuritogenesis. Additionally, encapsulating human umbilical cord-derived mesenchymal stem cells (ucMSCs) demonstrated synergistic tissue repair. In rat sciatic nerve injury models, these systems achieved functional recovery comparable to autografts, presenting a robust platform for peripheral nerve regeneration.
