Abstract
Developing multifunctional protective layers to regulate Zn²⁺ transport is essential for high-performance aqueous zinc-ion batteries (AZIBs). We report a zincophilic porous carbon (ZPC) interface, composed of activated carbon and a PAA-grafted CMC binder, designed for selective Zn²⁺ adsorption and flux regulation. This synergistic architecture facilitates rapid Zn²⁺ desolvation and promotes preferential (002) plane deposition, effectively suppressing dendrite growth and parasitic reactions. Consequently, the ZPC@Zn anode achieves an exceptional lifespan exceeding 3,600 hours at 4 mA cm⁻² and stability at 50% depth of discharge. Furthermore, iodine-based full cells demonstrate outstanding durability, maintaining 90% capacity over 5,000 cycles at 10 C. This study provides a robust interfacial engineering strategy, establishing a new paradigm for stable and dendrite-free AZIBs.
